1815: After escaping from Elba, Napoleon enters Paris with a regular army of140,000 and a volunteer force of around 200,000, beginning his "HundredDays" rule. In a 1930’s movie about the Rothschilds, Nathan Rothschildagrees to pledge his entire fortune to defeat Napoleon. In exchange for hisgenerosity, he demands that the Austrians and Prussian remove theirrestrictions against the Jews. “There is a legend told that on the day of theBattle of Waterloo, Nathan Mayer Rothschild came to the floor of the LondonStock Exchange, leaned against a pillar, and started selling.
