A whopping 46% of Gen Z parents are set to christen their children after celebrities or fictional characters. A study revealed that celebrity-inspired baby names are becoming increasingly common, the Social Media and Influencer marketing agency Socially Powerful sought to investigate the future landscape of star-studded names in the school register.
To do this, the experts collected a list of the most talked about celebrities of 2024 and cross-referenced them with the global name database Forebears.io.
Kim is leading the pack as the most popular celeb-inspired name worldwide. With a staggering 1,726,724 people sharing the name, including the one and only Kim Kardashian, there are a hefty 1.79 Kims for every Sabrina.
It's the 390th most common name globally and is particularly popular in the States.
Hot on its heels is Sabrina, with 963,835 people sporting the name. Ranking 937th globally, Sabrina is most common in Bangladesh but has the highest concentration in the tiny nation of San Marino. Sabrina Carpenter shot to fame on the Disney Channel in 2014 and dropped her debut album the next year.
Today, she's got a whopping 45 million followers on Instagram and her top tune 'Espresso' has been streamed over two billion times.
Olivia bags the third spot with a whopping 746,816 namesakes worldwide, ranking 1,270th globally with Mexico boasting the highest prevalence. This might come as a surprise given that Olivia is currently the most popular name for baby girls in the United States in 2023.

The study also revealed that Leonardo tops the chart for celebrity-inspired baby boy names, with around 1,650,030 little Leonardos around the world. Globally, the name ranks 422nd, shared by notable figures such as the renowned artist Leonardo Da Vinci and Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio.

The most renowned bearer of this name currently is Jacob Elordi, who shot to fame after his roles in Netflix's 'The Kissing Booth' and HBO's 'Euphoria'.
