Do you get feedback on your digital life in real life?I've been out more IRL lately and had nice comments on my LinkedInnery.🙂 Someone I knew said "love your way with words"🙂 Someone I didn't know said "oh you're the outdoor marketing guy"🙂 An old colleague spotted me on holiday: "I see you on LI all the time!"It happens for my customers too - they talk to other professionals who say they see them on here, but for whatever reason don't ever interact. Hearing that you're being noticed, heard and remembered is great anecdotal feedback for brands and people like me. It gives you a boost and a reminder to carry on, despite all the noise.So if the clicks aren't coming, don't stop; someone might be watching.Not in a creepy way, in a "you're pretty cool, I like the cut of your jib" way. 📸 A squirrel was watching me. Warm lead? Not sure. Bit nutty.

This is me with a lovely bloke called Paul Sinton-Hewitt In the running world he’s a hero because he invented parkrun 🤩 I don’t know him, he won’t notice me tagging him and I hope he doesn’t mind me posting his pic! I met him at my local park run. He was a proper gent, said some nice supportive things to my kids and humoured me with this fanboy photo. parkrun has helped millions of people with their physical and mental health and personally, it got me out of a mental black hole. After lockdowns and losing my mum it got me out of bed on weekends to volunteer, run and chat to people, which I'd almost forgotten how to do. It really sorted my head out after an extended period of misery. If you ever feel the need to get outdoors and meet some good eggs, it’s a great place to start. Also - unlike some things in life, it’s dependable, consistent and free! parkrun turns 20 today: happy birthday you bunch of legends.📸 Bearded running legend. (and the parkrun bloke) 😉

Picked up some new followers lately, woohoo! 🫡 If that's you then well done, you're clearly a highly intelligent being.I hope you enjoy my ramblings🤘 Here's my story in a nutshell:I used to be a head of marketing spending lots of money, launching important things, juggling campaigns, managing teams, having fun with agencies and juggling the demands of difficult directors.I was quite good at it, so I got promoted lots of times and worked with big brands in travel, retail and publishing. It was fun but not fun enough, so I went freelance.Now I'm the boss of me, I choose who I work with and use my experience to help less well known brands get better known.I get most fired up by the great outdoors and that's my niche🍃 My customers say things like "Jez is a real joy to work with" which is nice, isn't it?I like talking to new people, so if you fancy a chat, book a call with me using my profile link 🙂 ---📸 I like camping. Which words worked wonders with me this week?🍃WhatThe Rise of the Ultra Runners 🍃WhoAdharanand Finn 🍃WhyPassionate, intelligent writing from an author who’s lived the experience. His writing made me want to drop the book and go for a ridiculously long run, to see what all the fuss was about. 🍃InfluenceThis book convinced me that I’m morecapable of crazy physical things than I realised. It led to me running 43 miles in one go, which was more fun than it sounds. Turns out running is amazing for your head health! 🍃In a nutshell if you can’t be arsed to read itHumans can run a lot farther than you think. What does my head in about LinkedIn?People moaning about what does their head in about other people's posts.This week I've lost count of the amount of people writing about what they hate about other people's content...📸 Selfies? - this isn't Instagram mate🎥 Videos? - this isn't TikTok mate 📰 Spaces in your writing? - this isn't a book mate🐶 Dogs? - how dare you? This isn't Facebook mate♀️ Woman? - you're not a man mate 🤯 Emojis? WTAF! You're using a tiny cartoon? I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOWLive and let live people. It's much more relaxing if you stop giving so many f*cks about what everyone else is up to. Personally I prefer finding something supportive to say, or just saying nowt.
